Founded in the year 1971 by Jerry Falwell, the Liberty University is a Christian Arts university located in Lynchburg of Virginia. Jerry was also the Senior Pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church. It was formerly called the Lynchburg Baptist College and Liberty Baptist College, but was changed to Liberty University later in the year 1985. This privately owned university has more than 830 faculty members, 15000 undergraduates, and 5800 post graduates. It chose the symbol of an eagle as its university mascot. It lays a strict code for faculty members so that the right ideologies and knowledge is imparted. It follows the non-tenured teaching which allows the administrative council to have absolute authority over terminations and recommendations. The Liberty University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Currently holds valid credentials by both SACS and TRACS. In 2003, the law school division was started and is now affiliated to the American Bar Association. This makes it possible for its graduates to now give any bar examinations in the United States.
